A member asked:

When in cirrhosis does your gallbladder become inflamed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hopefully never: There is no relationship between liver cirrhosis and gallbladder issues, unless gallstones form. Cirrhosis does not cause gallbladder inflammation. If the cirrhosis is advanced & a person has low protein levels or ascities, then sometimes the gallbladder wall will appear thicker on ultrasound, but that is not from inflammation.
