A member asked:

Can taking 65 mg iron supplements for 3.5 weeks cause cirrhosis of the liver? gallbladder issues? ct scan in march showed normal healthy liver. blood tests all came back normal except a/g ratio was 2.4. albumin was 4.8 which is normal for me?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your iron intake will not cause cirrhosis . Wish you good health!
