Mornings can be: difficult for many people. Hard to face the demands of the day but folks usually get better as they get going. If this situation interferes w/work, school, duties or comfort level this person needs psychological support. She may be depressed or have a medical/hormonal condition that her doc needs to evaluate. Peace and good health. Is she getting enough sleep, eating well, exercising?

MANY possibilities: It sounds like she is depressed but there may be physiological reasons. She might be hypothyroid, have chronic Lyme disease, Vitamin B12 deficiency, heavy metal toxicity, celiac disease, severe anemia etc. etc. It is impossible for anyone here to know. She needs to see a good doctor (preferably an integrative doc) and have a thorough evaluation including physical exam and lab tests.

Your friend is: fortunate to have a friend like you who cares and wants to help. Talk with her and encourage her to seek medical and psychiatric evaluation to determine cause and seek relief. She may be willing to have you accompany her if you are willing to do so. If she is unable to leave her home help her consider a HealthTap consultation as a first step. Best regards to you and your friend.
