My boyfriend is sick i gave him ibuprofen (600mg) at 2pm and alka-seltzer plus at 6pm is it ok for me to give him 120mg of ibuprofen now at 9:10 pm??

Ibuprofen Use: Well, it depends on which alka-seltzer plus was given. If it was the one with Tylenol, (acetaminophen) then yes he can have another 200mg of ibuprofen at this time. But if it was the one with aspirin, then I would hold off on giving more anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, Advil, aspirin, etc. Generally, he can have up to 800mg of Ibuprofen every 8 hours as needed for pain/inflammation/fever.
