I've been on a steroid for a allergic reaction. when taking these, my immune system is low and my mouth is starting to get thrush and i cant swallow.

Call for antifungal: Your doctor should be able to Rx you a oral solution or tablet for the thrush. It is not likely from an impaired immune system (unless you have been on very high doses for months) but from the steroid increasing the sugar content at the throat area.
