X-ray: Have the foot x-rayed to make sure there are no structural issues that are contributing to the pain. Your shoe gear could also be contributing. Ice and rest until you can be seen by the doctor

Reason for pain????: First, before you can exercise your foot, you need to find out what is causing the pain. For example, if you have fractured a bone in your foot, you may need to immobilize your foot until the bone heals. You need to see your podiatrist and find out what the cause of the pain is first. Once that is diagnosed, your doctor can recommend exercises that are safe to do and that will be beneficial.
