A member asked:

Was in close contact w/ friend in hospital who later found out has c diff(touched her laptop, etc)what are chances i'll get it +how long till i know?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

C. diff spores: The problem with C. diff is the spores that are generated are invisible and can be anywhere in relation to an infected patient. It's quite possible u may have picked some up on your hands, and subsequently ingested them. (This has happened to 30% of health care workers). It means you must be EXTREMELY CAREFUL about taking antibiotics-you could be colonized. Tell any doc who wants u on antibiotics.
