Ablation: In this procedure a device is introduced into the femoral artery in the groin and treaded up to the heart. The device has an RF tip (radio frequency) which can be used to burn the superficial tissue in the heart in the attempt to disrupt aberrant pathways. These pathways are causing an irregular heart rate. Once these pathways are carefully mapped the cardiologist ablates the abnormal pathways.
