A member asked:

How often is it necessary to get blood work done in your 30s? feel fine, no regular medications, normal weight... blood work was normal 1.5 yr ago

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No good evidence: There is little evidence for doing regular blood tests. If your health is good and you do not have any symptoms, there is no need to repeat the test any more often than once in 5 years. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
