Wide normal range: You should give us the actual results, then we can give you some advice. What you consider 'high' platelet counts may not be of any concern unless it is over 450, 000.

How high?: There are different causes of high platelet level. Generally is divided by 2- primary bone marrow problem vs secondary causes/ reactive process ( such as: bleeding, iron deficiency, infection/inflammation, malignancy. What the reason you had hysterectomy 7 years ago? Fibroids? Sometimes, bone marrow biopsy needed if platelet level is significant to rule out primary bone marrow prblm, f/u with md.
