Superficial or Deep?: Have the pediatrician see what he thinks. Children tend to be sick until they are about 10, so lymph glans can be present - good that it is not sensitive. If pediatrician unsure he can refer you for further W/U. From your description a serious problem seems unlikely, but nothing is impossible in medicine. Could be a hair follicle.
