Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) mouthwash: contains chlorhexadine and is used as an anti-bacterial in the mouth. Presumably your dental specialist advised its use following your implants to help prevent infection. While it's effectiveness at preventing infection may not add that much, it does not seem to make infections, including opportunistic infections such as fungi, more likely. Review post-treatment recommendations with your dentist.

Not likely alone: If you got a fungal infection after using chlorhexidine gluconate, one likely cause is that of a weak immune system. Assuming you weren't taking any other antibiotics, you might want to explore this with your primary care provider since a topical antimicrobial like this isn't a typical cause of a fungal infection.

Yes: Use 5-7 days -- plenty. Good Luck.

Not likely: The Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) mouthwash use for long periods can cause stains on teeth, but not fungal infection. If concerned, see your dentist for eval.
