Good idea to see M.D: If you have particles of glass embedded under your skin, it would be good to have them removed. This can be done under local anesthesia. The anesthetic injection may sting for a moment, and there would be some soreness later, until the wound heals. Make sure you are up to date with tetanus immunization. Leaving glass inside may result in a wound infection.

No Pain, No Stink.: Quite frankly, if the wound is slightly healed over, the time frame has be more than "yesterday". Having said that, foreign bodies can at times be easy to remove and also difficult. Your best bet is to see a surgeon that has experience in removing these things. In some instances, there will be a need to do some testing, ultra sound or x-rays, to help locate the depth and position of the glass.
