Insurance coverage: Medical insurances often do not cover routine eye exams, but what you are describing would be covered under most medical plans. The diagnosis code would probably be headaches, or the swelling that you are describing. It sounds like you need to be seen by an ophthalmologist, and I would expect no issues with coverage by a medical insurance plan. Schedule the appointment for "headaches".
