A week ago, i noticed some lumps with bone texture in what i believe to be my third and fifth ribs(bilateral), near the sternum.

Cartilage calcified: You are feeling the cartilaginous junction of the ribs with the sternum. Apparently, it is calcifying. The condition is abnormal but not frightening unless you have problems elsewhere. I would guess that you had some chest injury several years ago.
