Costochondritis: Chest pain that is reproducible by pressing on the breast bone(sternum) is usually caused by costochondritis. This is an inflammatory condition of the cartilage at the junction of a rib and the sternum. Can be difficult to treat. NSAIDs and rest. See you doctor.
