Need more info: From the little information you provided the operation is likely to be removal of the spleen. If you do get your spleen removed, do get pneumovac and any other vaccines your doctor may recommend.

I'm an 18 year old male with severe thrombocytopenia and anemia discovered on a cbc. Bone marrow biopsy was normal. Cat was normal. No viruses. No offending drugs. No lupus. Any ideas of a diagnosis?
Could splenic lymphoma exist even with Negative Bone marrow biopsy & negative PET/CT , but splenomegaly occur? other causes has ruled out.
