A member asked:

Could splenic lymphoma exist even with negative bone marrow biopsy & negative pet/ct , but splenomegaly occur? other causes has ruled out.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes/No: Lymphoma can ,on rare occasions, involve spleen alone, sparing all other organs. But PET will show increased uptake(high SUV) and CT would show enlargement of Spleen. So depending on your symptoms and the degree of enlargment of your spleen, your doctor may, somewhere along the line, consider removal of the spleen(splenectomy). But this step would only be taken if your spleen is causing U any harm
