My dad has a gleason score of 7 no further details will be given until appnmt. what is survival rate of that score for a 63 yr old? he is also diabetic and takes insulin and metformin

Need to no more: The Gleason Score is just one part of the picture. It is a measure of how abnormal the cells are based on the best and worst areas from prostate biopsies. Survival rate while effected by the Gleason Score depends on many factors including site of cancer, penetration on capsule, number of positive biopsies, local or metastatic disease and patient overall health. You need the full evaluation.

Have to find details: You must find more details , you already know is it is high score in general prognosis is guarded . You have to find stage ( spread ) At 63 is very important to choose type of treatment , some treatments are controversial , must speak to the treating doctor . and one instance if needed take second opinion.
