A member asked:

Did anyone developed thyroid problems after taking bladderwrack for slimming?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, don't use it: Bladderwrack comes from seaweed, and contains a lot of iodine. Too much iodine can cause hyperthyroidism (or hypothyroidism). Also, bladderwrack does not help with weight loss. Also, since it is not regulated and comes from the sea, you don't know whether it contains mercury or other toxic metals.
