A member asked:

1.8mm dilation on tail of pancreas with surrounding isoechoic changes, biopsy was taken, waiting on results. chances this is cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I feel your pain: I know waiting is the hardest thing, but you need more info. U/S is rarely the only test for the panc. (although iso echoic is good). We use contrast CT and esp. contrast MRI to help. Of course tissue is the issue. Absent a strong family history of panc. Ca, the odds are almost overwhelmingly in your favor at 40 yo. I assume the 2 mm is the pancreatic duct, which can have normal variants.
