Will accidentally eating 1 serving of grapefruit while taking 0.5mg of xanax (alprazolam) cause death? my rx did not say to avoid grapefruit but online it says to!

No death: As you have obviously learned, you did not die. Grapefruit sometimes interferes with the metabolism of various medications but the combination should not be fatal.

Grapefruit & Zanax: If you use Xanax with either grapefruit or grapefruit juice, the level of alprazolam in blood can increase & cause an increase in side effects like dizziness, sedation & confusion. This is considered a moderate clinically significant issue per Drugs.Com. There is at least one study out there that says grapefruit did not make a difference.
