My daughter is 6 years old and pediatrician said eyesight is 20/25. no one in her parent/grandparents have this issue. what are some pros/cons of pursuing this further? i almost want to not bother with this and have another test done after an year.

Normal vision: Most people think that only a perfect 20/20 is normal vision. Actually, any vision test with a result lower than 20/50 is considered normal vision and correction is not necessary. Since your daughter's vision is well below that, there is no cause for concern.

Ignore it: In my state you would have trouble passing the eye test for a drivers license with anything at or below 20/40. That said, I wouldn't look at this as a problem at her age. Yearly screenings with her checkups should help monitor the situation and if it drifts toward 20/40 or there is a difference between her eyes, I would consult the eye doc for treatment.
