I see this frequently in girls that shampoo their hair and sit in the sudsy water. The soap suds end up inside the vaginal entrance and persist unless rinsed. Once there the soap film can trigger itching and redness or discharge that is exaggerated by the kid digging at the site when they are half asleep. Moving to showers and avoiding soap inside the genitals helps resolve the issue.
