Frenum: If your mandibular lingual frenum, the tag of tissue that connects the underside of your tongue to the gums behind your bottom front teeth, is too short it can damage the gum tissue, causing detachment and/or recession. See your Dentist. Referral to a Periodontist (gum specialist) or Oral Surgeon is in order to ameliorate the damage.

Periodontist: See a periodontist to have the soft tissues evaluated. That frenum may need to be released to avoid further damage to the gingiva and bone.
