Sorry, not possible: Once an oral herpes lesion has a scab, nothing can be done to speed healing further. The scab will fall off in its own time; removing it sooner will result in a new scab and take even longer. Covering it with makeup is just about all you can do. For the future, talk with your doctor about having a prescription for valacyclovir (Valtrex) on hand. Immediate Rx (2 grams, 1 dose) is very effective.
