Diagnosed with lupus years ago but my c3 and c4 have always been normal even when i'm in a flare. is this possible or was i likely misdiagnosed?

Yes, it can be.: Decreases serum C3 or C4 could either forecast or mark a renal flare, not always seen in SLE. If you have/had at least 4 of the 11 disorders there is a strong chance that you have lupus. 1. Malar rash 2. Discoid rash 3. Photosensitivity 4. Oral ulcers 5. Arthritis 6. Serositis 7. Kidney 8.
