Have lupus & recent c3 & c4 were normal. rheumatologist told me lupus is stable &then said not active. however wbc still was low &malar rash from sun w/flare few months ago.does "not active" mean complete remission & i should have no symptoms at all?

The doctor is likely saying that the inflammatory markers are not abnormal so that the inflammation from the lupus is under control. This does not mean you would be symptom-free but that the inflammation is under control, likely with the medication you are taking. Keep track of your symptoms and see your doctor again if your symptoms are worsening. Good luck to you!
