If tests are normal: MVP is a spectrum of multiple symptoms due to the stretch of the chordae or suspension of the mitral valve which is a valve connecting the left atrium , top chamber and left ventricle or bottom chamber. Symptoms include but are not limited to chest pain and palpitations. The work up usually includes a 2 d echocardiogram , Ekg, and sometimes more prolonged recordings and often a stress test .
