A member asked:

60 yrs male mvp with mild to moderate regurgitation few episodes of arrhythmia per day ( skipped heartbeats) after meals/ activities why do my symptoms worsen when i take viagra/cialis as needed. is it safe to take these pills ? much obliged?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I assume it's not the ensuing sexual activity that produces symptoms. Since these meds cause a drop in blood pressure, they can affect the heart rate and/or rhythm.and provoke any atrial or ventricular irritability. Since you have significant mitral regurgitation from MVP, I assume you're followed by a cardiologist who can also advise you best in this matter.
