CONTINUE: the antibiotic since there may be a "lag" before effective tissue levels are reached...however this MAY mean your lesions are VIRAL..particularly if you have other lesions on your hands/feet. Strep throat: Most sore throats are due to viruses which won't respond to antibiotics. Strep throat, as proven by rapid Strep test or throat culture will respond to antibiotics but typically, all you need is Penicillin, not broad-spectrum Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate).
