Manual mobilization: Initial therapy should be directed toward reducing the disc displacement through manual mobilization. Subsequent treatment should involve placement of an intraoral appliance to maintain the disc in a reduced position. Eminectomy is performed for the treatment of recurrent TMJ dislocation.
