Took zovirax (acyclovir) for 10 days about two weeks ago & my genital sore cleared. now i have another. do i need to take it everyday? was only given for 10 days

More info needed: If this was your first genital herpes, more treatment maybe helpful. Initial herpes can produce new lesions for up to 4-6 weeks. But if recurrent, the diagnosis seems less certain. Was the diagnosis confirmed by lab test, preferably positive culture or PCR from the outbreak? Or just blood test? Most people with genital HSV2 benefit from ongoing treatment, but not HSV1. Discuss with doctor.
