Neck, arm pain: This question is not appropriate as it is patient specific. Having stated that, yes cervical nerves do travel to the neck and upper extremity and can get "pinched". There can be many other causes of sharp pain, some of which need looking into. The exact distribution of pain is very important to direct further diagnostic tests such as MRI.
