Consciousness is: not an on/off thing; there are degrees of consciousness, like dawn to dusk. When we are in the in between state between sleeping and waking, the brain does not filter out thoughts like it does when fully conscious. This can lead to strange, pleasant, and unpleasant thoughts and feelings. If auditory hallucinations happen at other times please see a mental health professional. Peace and & health
