Sleep Paralysis: Some factors include genetics, sleep deprivation, stress, narcolepsy, mood disorders, medications, & substance abuse. Make sure you get at least 6-8 hours of sleep each night, practice Sleep Hygiene techniques, and work with your doctor on exploring the underlying causes & treating those.
