No: This is considered stage I hypertension. Is not normal and needs treatment. A single measurement this high does not require treatment right away. However if repeat measurements show it is still elevated at another doctors visit then treatment would be indicated. Recommend to invest in a home bp machine. Check it once every morning upon rising. Keep a journal and show to your doctor after 2-3 week

Little bit too high.: Hypertension can be treated without medication. Regular cardiovascular exercise, at least five days per week. DASH diet - salt < 2000mg daily, fiber (50 grams daily for women and 70 grams daily for men), lean protein sources and complex carbohydrates. Stress reduction - meditation and such. Sleep 6-9 hours nightly. Don't smoke cigarettes - ever.
