Visual problems: When a person has a problem with vision, they can have a problem anywhere from their cornea. lens, retina and along the optic nerves to the visual cortex of the brain. Our retina is actually part of our central nervous system, as are the optic nerves. The muscles that move your eyeball are controlled by cranial nerves as well. Ophthalmology is the specialty of medicine that treats eye disorders.
