I took amoxicillin at 6 am today (left over from previous perception). is it ok to start a z pak (azithromycin) in the same day.i have strep throat?

OK: But a Zpack won't treat a strep throat. The dose is not the recommended dose and it should be a 7 day course reserved for patients allergic to Penicillin. The preferred drug is a Penicillin drug if you have no allergies and the proper dose and time frame. All the best.

Same day is fine,but: in my area of houston, tx, there is a lot of resistance to zpack when it comes to strep, so if you arent improving, see if they can prescribe its tougher cousin clarithromycin
