I had oral surgery today. i hate antibiotics. is it necessary to take them if i don't have an infection? can't i "wait and see" how i heal w/out them?

Use if prescribed: Don't take them unless prescribed, but best to use them as prescribed by your attending dentist. Feel free to ask that individual your question for an appropriate answer but their familiarity with your situation is an essential element to providing you with a good recommendation.

Follow instructions: You should certainly follow the instructions of your oral surgeon/dentist to avoid future complications.

Tooth Abscessed?: Why did you have tooth extracted? Did you have an infection? Have you had any type of swelling? If you had an infected tooth or an abscess then you need to take the AB. Usually if the antibiotics are prescribed then there was an infection. You should contact your oral health provider and discuss this is with that provider. The last thing you want is more issues in this area.
