Barrett's not cancer: You have to remember that Barrett's esophagus is not cancer. It's a precursor to cancer, and if left untreated will become cancer, but it's not cancer. So, if you go for your endoscopies regularly and get the areas of Barrett's treated adequately and completely when they appear, it should not affect your life expectancy.
