Ice pick headache..: ..is one of the causes of sharp, brief head pain. Often the pain is in or around one eye. Other causes include pain coming from the neck which is more pressure on one side of the head; trigeminal neuralgia in the cheek or jaw; and cluster headache which lasts 30-180 minutes. You should discuss with your doctor; if the pain is recurrent or severe, evaluation and treatment can be suggested.

Hard to say: If the pain is sharp and lasts just a short time as you say it usually is a musculoskeletal irritation that can cause these types of shocks. Need more information as to whether you can palpate a tender area and whether there is any pain that is constant. If persists or gets worse then it should be seen by your Dr. so further questions can be discussed and evaluated. I hope this helped.
