A member asked:

Sharp, moderate, headache felt in the front above my eye and back of the right side of my head. only lasted about a minute or two, and then went away. what could this be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sharp and, at times, jabbing head pains are neuralgia or irritability of superficial scalp nerves. These can be above the eye or in the back of the head (occipital neuralgia) emanating from the upper neck radiating up the scalp. This is more of a nuisance rather than a serious disorder and tends to resolve without any treatment.
