Not to worry: Veins are very flexible, and it's not going to damage a vein by using the full normal range of motion of the elbow. Nerves have a lot more resistance to tension though and can be stretched to the point of sending pain signals as is the case with sciatica in the leg. Tendons and ligaments also can be stretched to the point of causing pain which improves with gently progressive stretching exercises.

Recent arm trauma?: If you recently injured your forearm, or if the vein is hard instead of squishy, you might have a superficial clot. If that is the case you may want to let a doctor take a look to be certain you don't have inflamed veins or clot in the arm above the elbow. Most often, forearm veins bulge due to use of the muscles for weight lifting, sports that involve power or other physical exertion.
