A member asked:

Bloodwork results with wbc count of 10.21. i have been fighting a cold the last two weeks. could this cause the wbc elevation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your WBC may not be elevated and may be your normal. You may repeat the test, at your convenience, in consultation with your doctor.
