A member asked:

So my mom has nodules in her neck and she went to get it an autopsy and the doctor said 1 is benign and the other 2 are in terminal what does thatmean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thyroid cancer?: We need more information. Your mom went to get a biopsy (sample from the nodules), not autopsy. It is not clear what exactly they mean by 'terminal'. Give us more history. Did doctor said she had a cancer and what type? Most commonly nodules in the neck will represent thyroid cancer. However, it may be lymph nodes with metastatic cancer from somewhere else. This is provided she has a cancer.
