A member asked:

I have two 2cm complex nodules in the right lobe of my thyroid doctor say it need to be fine needle aspirated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fine needle aspirati: Every nodule above 1cm needs to be biopsied (which is called a fine needle aspiration) because it carries a five percent risk of being cancer. The aspiration is usually a simple procedure done in your endocrinologist office with minor risk.
