A member asked:

I have had a colonoscopy approx 10 hours ago and my stomach is cramping and i am going to the toilet frequently to pass wind and stools. is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Air is introduced into the colon during the procedure, in some cases more than others, and it is now being expelled. However if you're experiencing severe abdominal distress or distension or passing any blood, call the endoscopist who performed your colonoscopy as he/she will want to evaluate you as soon as possible. If there are no complications, it may take a few days to return to normal pattern
