Poss-Unlikely-Yes: Thyroid disease is easily treated WITH medicine. There is definitely a genetic component. Some can be cured, most need tx, there are many thyroid dz's. Please do not rely only on alternative (medicines) cures, if there is a real documented thyroid problem. As I said they are easily tx'd, unfortunately yes people do die from untreated thyroid disease, which is something that should not happen!
