Plan B: Plan B is taken orally. You swallow the pills within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. When used in this way it decreases the risk of pregnancy by about 70%. IT works by delaying or blocking ovulation. It is not an abortive agent. It begins working as soon as you swallow it as the hormones are absorbed.
